2012 | The art begins with an impulse, an idea and in the initial stage, the painting is both an additive and reductive process. The first stage is primarily a layer of oneself. As it progresses and moves forward, so does an investigation and recording of endless possible sets of structural and spatial relationships. It is the response and acknowledgement to proportion, size, scale, color and surface texture. As a metaphor, the landscape represents the human spirit, with all its twists and turns, with no guarantees, but brief moments of many memorable journeys.
