transitions

2012  |  After two previous series created with observable forms of nature, my paintings transitioned to inspiration from above: the aerial landscape. The geometric areas of painterly colors create a puzzle effect with vertical, horizontal and diagonal line defining spaces and shapes. I identified with the circle as being either a natural or man-made phenomena within each of the compositions.

As a metaphor, the landscape represents the human spirit, with all of its twists and turns, with no guarantees, but with brief moments of memorable journeys.  [All paintings are acrylic on canvas.]
